Want to start your Electrical career? Take our Pre-Employment Electrician/Solar and Small Wind Installer Program where you will recieve extensive hands on and theoretical training related to residential and commerical electrical installation. You will also cover information on constructing, installing and maintaing small wind turbines and solar PV panels. The course runs Monday through Thursday 9:00am to 3:15pm in Vulcan and Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm in Lethbridge. For more information contact Ray at 403-485-4147

There will be a Municipal Heritage Project Open House on December 6th from 4pm – 7pm at the Vulcan County Administration Building. This is the public’s opportunity to discover what historical sites have been uncovered as important resources in the region. Stop by, you may discover some things you didn’t know before.
Wind Park Construction

This new and exciting program is designed to provide the entry level skill development for employment in wind park construction. The course focus will be on how the major and minor components of a wind turbine are handled and prepared on a construction site. In addition, students will learn how these components are assembled and commissioned for wind parks. Students will also recieve instruction and training in safe work practises and procedures. If you would like to take advantage of the upcoming projects in your area, register for this course occuring January – April on evenings and weekends.

Vulcan Business Development Society’s 5th Annual Small Business Dinner will be on October 18th, 2011 at the Vulcan Legion. The night will start off with a Reception at 5:30pm and will be followed by Dinner at 6:00pm. The Guest Speaker, Dan Tocher of Greengate Power Corporation will be speaking from 6:45-8:30pm.
