Are you interested in learning the skills and knowledge required for residential construction framing?  Take this course on four saturdays in April and the beggining of May to learn the design and materials required.  Students will particpate with hands on construction of a small building.

Do you have your first year electrical apprenticeship?  Would you like to develop skills in solar and small wind installation?  Take this program starting on April 11 – 27 and recieve extensive hands on and theoretical training related to residential and commercial electrical installation as well as information on constructing, installing and maintaining small wind turbines and solar PV panels.  There is the opportunity to video conference theory in Vulcan with the practical experience being held at Lethbridge College.  Click on the above image to learn more.

Wind Park Construction

This new and exciting program is designed to provide the entry level skill development for employment in wind park construction. The course focus will be on how the major and minor components of a wind turbine are handled and prepared on a construction site.  In addition, students will learn how these components are assembled and commissioned for wind parks.  Students will also recieve instruction and training in safe work practises and procedures.  If you would like to take advantage of the upcoming projects in your area, register for this course occuring January – April on evenings and weekends.

Vulcan Business Development Society’s 5th Annual Small Business Dinner will be on October 18th, 2011 at the Vulcan Legion.  The night will start off with a Reception at 5:30pm and will be followed by Dinner at 6:00pm.  The Guest Speaker, Dan Tocher of Greengate Power Corporation will be speaking from 6:45-8:30pm.  The cost is $10.00 per person.  Cheques can be made payable to VBDS, Box 1205, Vulcan Ab, T0L2B0.  Please attach the names of the individuals attending.  Please R.S.V.P. your attendance to Cassie Thompson at reception@vulcanbusiness.ca at 403-485-4100.
